MICROBLADING & PMU Frequently Asked Questions

What is PMU?

PMU, also called Semi-Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation, is the process of implanting pigment into the skin to create long-term cosmetics.

Microblading is a form of a cosmetic semi-permanent makeup performed using, a manual (not a machine) disposable handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (a microblade), to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant the pigment into the skin.

How does it work?

We begin by mapping each brow to be scientifically fit to your anatomy and have perfect symmetry. There are about 2-3 passes through your brows as each new hair stroke that is drawn is meant to mimic the client natural eyebrows hair and seamlessly blend it with the client existing brows to add color and fullness resulting in a very natural look.

Does it hurt?

Much like a regular tattoo, it can depend on the clients pain tolerance. The first pass is done without anesthetic and is typically described as a 2/10 on the uncomfortable scale. Once the artist has completed the first pass a highly - effective topical anesthetic to give a pain free remainder of the service.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?

PMU is done in 2 initial sessions 6-10 weeks apart. It will fade over time and regular touchups roughly every 12-36 months are required to keep color crisp. We re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary at each touchup.
